Aubrey worked as Producing Associate for Octopus Theatricals’ production of Our Country, a devised piece created by Annie Saunders and Becca Wolff. The show was workshopped at the Brown Arts Institute in Providence, RI in October and was showcased as part of The Public Theater’s Under the Radar festival in NYC in January. The show stars Annie Saunders and Jesse Saler, features themes of Antigone, the Wild West and sibling relationships and includes a giant fort that encompasses the stage and audience. Aubrey was honored to be nominated for Best Actress at the Austin Under the Stars Film Festival. It meant so much to her to end the Ranch Water festival circuit on such a high note with this nomination. She was unable to attend the festival in person but is forever grateful for the recognition.

LUMPED TOGETHER

Aubrey was so happy to be back on set as the Assistant Director (1st AD) for a short film written by and starring Jessica Toltzis entitled Lumped Together. The comedy follows a Couples Therapist who uses her patients’ issues as an excuse to move in with them and out of her mother’s house. The shoot took place over 2 days in Los Angeles, and the team included many previous collaborators including Sophie Miller, Chris Luner, Joey Sperber, and Max Lopez. PUPPET CYCLE
July & August 2022 | Theater
Aubrey joined up again with Octopus Theatricals as the Producing Associate and Stage Manager for a new creative project with Phantom Limb Company entitled Puppet Cycle. The team designed, engineered and built a marionette puppet stage on a bicycle! Commissioned by Arts Brookfield, the show travelled to multiple public spaces in New York City for pop-up shows featuring direction by Jessica Grindstaff, scripts by Jen Silverman and Dipika Guha, puppets by Erik Sanko, hilarious interludes by Matt Dallal and bright costumes by Henrik Vibskov. She very much enjoyed being a part of such a unique experience and offering free art to the public! Aubrey worked for Octopus Theatricals as Line Producer and Assistant Stage Manager for their installation of Theater for One at Signature Theatre. Theater for One is a unique theatrical experience built for one audience member at a time and a surprise performance waiting inside the booth. It is a very impressive operation! This iteration featured plays written by Samuel D. Hunter, Lynn Nottage, José Rivera, David Henry Hwang, Regina Taylor, and DeLanna Studi and directed by Tiffany Nichole Green, SRDA, and Rudy Ramirez. Aubrey was honored to be nominated for Best Texas Actress (Allison Wood Award) at the Austin Revolution Film Festival for her work in Ranch Water! She had the best time acting alongside this incredible ensemble of women and is very proud to be recognized among many impressive performances at the festival. The team had a blast at ARFF and walked away with two awards for Ranch Water - Best in Show Feature 2022 and Best Texas Feature!

They had so much fun exploring the town, connecting with locals, meeting fellow filmmakers, and celebrating the film. After first being an Official Selection of the 2021 Golden Gate International Film Festival, Ranch Water was then chosen as one of the Top 20 Films in the festival’s 5 year history from 2016-2021. These films were screened on demand as part of the Best of Fest Encore Series. The team was beyond honored to be included in this list and thrilled to win an Audience Award as well!

Aubrey has been working with her one of her favorite companies, Fiasco Theater Company, as their Covid Compliance Officer for many workshops including Imogen Says Nothing as part of their “Without a Net” series, Diamond Alice and A Streetcar Named Desire as part of their “Some of Its Parts” series and a beautiful, filmed tribute to the life of Stephen Sondheim. Ranch Water is an Official Selection of Austin Film Festival! The film had screenings at the Galaxy Highland Theater and State Theater on Congress with successful Q&A’s at both events, the team walked the red carpet and spoke with local press, and a premiere party was thrown for the cast & crew, families, friends and donors. The film received amazing feedback by viewers, including a rave review by the founder of the festival, Barbara Morgan, who claimed the film was one of four to watch alongside Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch. RANCH WATER

Aubrey had the most magical experience producing her first feature film, Ranch Water, alongside partners Chris Luner and Sophie Miller. Ranch Water was shot in Smithville, Texas with a small cast and crew in a COVID-free bubble. It follows the story of three sisters celebrating the last weekend on their family ranch with friends, and it features only women on screen. Aubrey also acted in the film, playing the role of the oldest sister, Jac. Aubrey is eternally grateful to this exceptional team for coming together during this difficult year to brig this story to life. Aubrey is working as a Freelance Technician in New York. She has helped load in and load out rehearsal rooms and theaters for many productions, including The Unsinkable Molly Brown (Transport Group), American Buffalo (Broadway), The B52’s Thing (Ideal Glass), and multiple untitled works in progress with Luner Eclipse Productions and Fullstage Productions. She has enjoyed working in the industry behind the scenes and helping these shows come to life!

As a long time fan of Fiasco Theater Company, Aubrey was beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to study with these artists as part of their inaugural Six-Week Shakespeare Conservatory Program. This post-grad intensive program featured classes taught by some of New York’s finest including co-artistic directors of Fiasco – Ben Steinfeld, Jessie Austrian, and Noah Broady – as well as Zack Fine, Liz Hayes, Annie Piper, Navarra Novy Williams, and Kathryn Armour. Aubrey had an incredible time deepening her understanding and love for Shakespeare and ensemble theater, and she is grateful to have found a spot within this community of passionate, intelligent, and ambitious collaborators. Aubrey returned to New York City Center Encores! Off Center pre-production rehearsal room this year for this season’s production of Road Show directed by Will Davis. She loved working with Will, Sarah Cook (Associate Director), and Whitney G-Bowley (Associate Choreographer) on this Sondheim/Weidman piece and had the best time developing choreography / playing with beach balls, cigarettes, and toy houses! She sends her congrats to the full cast and crew on a spectacular run of the final product of this piece.
CIRCLE OF SHIT

Aubrey played the role of Joanna in a new dark, philosophic comedy about a group of sinners’ descent through The Inferno, entitled Circle of Shit. The play, written by Nathan Dennis and directed by Jenna Antoniades, was performed for one night only at Dixon Place. Aubrey enjoyed working with her fellow cast mates on this challenging script and loved sharing the shit-covered world with an audience.

Aubrey had the absolute honor of helping out her friend Gabriel Elizabeth Kadian in a first draft reading of her new musical, Anahid. After hearing about the writing process of this piece for many years, Aubrey was so excited to participate in this reading and allow Gabriel to hear the words come to life for the first time. The cast had a blast working through the script together and giving feedback and can’t wait to see how the show grows in the future! Keep an eye out for this one!

Max Posner’s play, Sisters on the Ground, is officially published through Dramatists Play Service, Inc. Aubrey could not be happier to have helped bring this beautiful script to life as the role of Beth in the original cast. She and her fellow sisters helped celebrate Max by performing a few of the play’s haunting songs at a publication party hosted by Dramatists at the Drama Book Shop in Times Square. THE ART OF THE FAIRYTALE ENDING

Aubrey was delighted to work alongside a group of incredibly talented high school film students from her hometown of Austin, Texas on a short film entitled The Art of the Fairytale Ending as part of the All American High School Film Invitational & Festival in NYC. These students directed, filmed, and edited their original piece in less than a week, and Aubrey had the best time watching them learn and grow on set.

Aubrey had the absolute pleasure of working with Page 73 on a staging workshop for their upcoming production of Catch As Catch Can at the New Ohio Theatre. The new play, written by Mia Chung, is a story of six characters played by only three actors. Aubrey had a blast working with director Ken Rus Schmoll, producer Michael Walkup, Mia, and the other actors on the intricacies of staging this complex script, and she can’t wait to see the final piece come together in October!

Aubrey had the pleasure of working with director Ken Rus Schmoll once again in a workshop of his upcoming production of Gone Missing at New York City Center’s Encores! Off-Center 2018 season. This production of the documentary style musical, originally created by The Civilians in 2003, honors the work of its composer and Off-Center Artistic Director, the late Michael Friedman. Aubrey had a wonderful time working with the pre-production cast of actors and dancers, as well as with the production team and artistic directors Jeanine Tesori and Anne Kaufman. She is looking forward to seeing the full production in July!
ELEMENTARY SPACETIME SHOW

Aubrey played the role of Robot in a new version of a musical written by César Alvarez entitled Elementary Spacetime Show. She enjoyed working with César, director Andrew Neisler, and an incredible cast of talented performers. This production comes after a successful concert reading at The Public last April and was performed at Playwrights Downtown in May.

Aubrey played the role of Heather, a 17-year-old straight A chemistry wiz, in a reading of selected scenes from a new screenplay entitled The Radioactive Boy Scout written and directed by Eric D. Cohen and produced by OBB Pictures. The script was selected for NYU’s Black List inspired Purple List, a curation of the best yet-to-be-produced scripts from the NYU Graduate Film alumni community, and was performed for a number of film industry professionals in April. Aubrey can’t wait to see where this story goes!

Aubrey attended the South By Southwest Film Festival this year in her hometown of Austin, Texas. She met so many incredible people working in the film industry and had the amazing opportunity to see a number of film premieres and learn from inspiring professionals. Highlights of her week included talks by directors Darren Aronofsky and Barry Jenkins, the cast and creators of This is Us, and actor Ethan Hawke. Her favorite screenings included John Krasinksi’s A Quiet Place starring Emily Blunt, Kay Cannon’s Blockers starring John Cena and Leslie Mann, and Brett Haley’s Hearts Beat Loud starring Nick Offerman. Aubrey was also so happy to support and celebrate with her fellow NYU Alums Camila Mendes and Bubba Weiler on their film premieres of The New Romantic and The Ranger at the festival!
THE LAST GOODBYE

Aubrey was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Director Alex Timbers and Music Director Kris Kukul on this rock ‘n roll musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. This show, written by Michael Kimmel with music by Jeff Buckley, first premiered at The Old Globe in 2013. Aubrey loved seeing how the show transformed over the week!

Aubrey participated in a one week long movement-based workshop for The Public’s upcoming production of a new musical entitled Miss You Like Hell written by Quiara Alegría Hudes and Erin McKeown. The workshop will be lead by director Lear deBessonet (Founder of Public Works) and choreographer Danny Mefford (Dear Evan Hansen, Fun Home). Aubrey enjoyed being in a room full of so many talented artists!
UPRIGHT CITIZENS BRIGADE (UCB)

Aubrey took a leap out of her comfort zone and worked on her improv skills at the Upright Citizens Brigade Training Center founded by Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh. She spent three months learning about and practicing long form improv with Chelsea Clarke and attended multiple comedy shows at the various UCB Theaters around the city. Aubrey is happy to have worked on a new skill set and to be a part of the UCB community.

TWELFTH NIGHT OR WHAT YOU WILL

Aubrey played Viola in a production of Twelfth Night Or What You Will at The Brick summer “Shakespeare in the Theater” festival. Both the play and the character have always been some of Aubrey’s favorites in the Shakespeare cannon, and she was happy to participate in The Brick festival once again after having played multiple roles in a production of The Tempest there last summer. Twelfth Night was directed by Nikolai Mishler and featured many recent graduates of the NYU Tisch Acting program.

Aubrey recently traveled to her hometown of Austin, Texas to shoot a commercial and educational video for The Center for ACL Injuries at Austin Sports Medicine. Aubrey acts as a spokesperson for the company and is looking forward to working with this team again in the future.

Aubrey participated in a dance/movement workshop of Clare Barron‘s new play Dance Nation. The workshop was directed by Lee Sunday Evans and was in preparation for the premiere production of the play at Playwrights Horizons in April of 2018. Aubrey had a blast dancing with Lee and Clare!

The Reckoning is the second psychological thriller short Aubrey has worked on with writer/director Ishan Seth. She was thrilled to reunite with many of the same production/performance team members from the Incognita shoot back in 2015. Aubrey played the role of Mara and had her hands tied to a gun for most of the film!
SISTERS ON THE GROUND - REVIVAL

Max Posner‘s new play, Sisters on the Ground, was back at Playwrights Downtown in May! Aubrey was thrilled to get back to work on one of her favorite projects and reunite with the cast who developed and premiered the show back in December of 2015. The show, which tells the story of six young sisters living in the 1800’s and coming to terms with their oldest sister’s death, features a stage full of dirt and a handful of hauntingly beautiful songs. The remount was directed by Ken Rus Schmoll and designed by Jessica Pabst, Eric Southern and Frank J. Oliva.

The cast of Oedipus on the Beach, a new modern, musical adaptation of Sophocles’ Oedipus Triology written and composed by Nikolai Mishler, recorded a cast album at The Creamery Studios in Greenpoint! Aubrey played rhythm guitar on the album, sang backups with a large chorus, and sang lead vocals on one song as the role of Antigone.

Aubrey joined a phenomenal cast of actors at United Talent Agency for a reading of a beautiful new play by Todd Almond entitled The Earth is Flat. This reading was directed by Ken Rus Schmoll.

Aubrey had the pleasure of playing Ferdinand, Stephano, and Antonio in a production of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest at The Brick Theatre as part of their summer “Shakespeare in the Theatre” festival. This production was directed by Ilana Khanin and featured a bouncy house water slide and a variety of “Tempest” themed dances.

Aubrey graduated Cum Laude from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Studies. The graduation ceremonies were held at Yankee Stadium and Radio City Musical Hall where she celebrated with family and friends. During her time at NYU, Aubrey trained at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London (RADA), and Stonestreet Film Studio and Conservatory.
